The layout remains one of the most distinctive in the sport: seen from above, the track traces the Chinese character shàng, meaning “above”. On the ground it delivers a tightening corkscrew through Turns 1 and 2, then a 1.2km back straight that sets up some of the best overtaking of the season.

Where is the Chinese Grand Prix held?

The Chinese Grand Prix takes place at the Shanghai International Circuit, located in the Jiading District, around 30km from central Shanghai. Designed by renowned circuit architect Hermann Tilke, the 5.451km track is instantly recognisable for its distinctive layout, said to be inspired by the Chinese character shàng. The circuit features 16 turns and one of the longest straights on the F1 calendar, a 1.175km run between Turns 13 and 14 that sets up some of the season’s best overtaking opportunities.

What is the best way to get to the Shanghai International Circuit?

The Shanghai International Circuit sits outside the city centre, with return shared transfers set to be included in most of our Chinese Grand Prix packages.

Does the Chinese Grand Prix include a Sprint Race?

The Chinese Grand Prix has run as a sprint weekend every year since 2024, adding a Saturday sprint race and its own qualifying session alongside the standard Friday practice and Sunday Grand Prix. Formula 1 has not yet confirmed the format for 2027, so the sprint race schedule will be updated as soon as official session times are released.

Will Chinese Grand Prix 2027 packages include on-site support?

Our team is available to contact 24/7 through our event contact number, provided in your documentation. Our team will be on the ground in Shanghai for the duration of the event, and will be able to assist you throughout your trip as required.

Are flights included in the Chinese Grand Prix packages?

Flights are not included in our packages unless specifically mentioned in the product details. Flights can be added to any of our experiences and this can be arranged through our travel consultants.

Can I alter the package?

This includes accommodation options, ticket type, and additional experiences and inclusions, subject to availability. Even if you’re not a huge Formula 1 fan, you couldn’t ask for better hosts — and they were even happy to look after the wives while the husbands enjoyed the racing! 😂 They went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt welcome, comfortable and had everything they needed.

On behalf of the four of us, we honestly cannot thank these two lovely ladies enough. We had the best weekend and they made the experience truly unforgettable.

The Keith Prowse experience was also exceptional from start to finish. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a fantastic hospitality experience, and we would most definitely join this wonderful company again.
