Additional Information

Where is the Australian Grand Prix held?

+

The Australian Grand Prix takes place at the Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne, a semi-permanent street circuit built on everyday roads that loop around Albert Park Lake, just south of the CBD. Temporary grandstands, footbridges and fan zones transform the park into a full Grand Prix precinct each March. Expect fast, flowing sections and signature viewing at Turn 1, the high-speed Turns 11–12 chicane and pit straight. The current Grand Prix layout is 5.278 km and has become the season opener in recent years, bringing a carnival atmosphere to the city.

What is the best way to get to the Albert Park Circuit track?

+

Public transport is the simplest option. The event runs thousands of extra tram services between the CBD (Flinders Street/Southern Cross) and Albert Park, with shuttle trams as often as every 1–2 minutes at peak times—and travel on these trams is free with your Grand Prix ticket. Trams drop-off at gates around the lake, and there’s no public parking at the circuit.

Rideshare and taxi ranks are designated near selected gates, while nearby Anzac Station, Southern Cross Station and Flinders Street Station connect easily to tram shuttles. Your Keith Prowse Travel event guide will include gate suggestions based on your seats.

When is the Australian Grand Prix in 2026?

+

The Australian Grand Prix runs from 5th March to 8th March 2026.

The event is staged over four days in March. Thursday features precinct opening and support-category action; Friday brings F1 practice; Saturday hosts final practice and qualifying (or Sprint sessions if scheduled); and Sunday is Grand Prix day. Exact session times are confirmed closer to the event by Formula 1 and the promoter—your Keith Prowse Travel schedule will reflect the final timings.

What does my Australian Grand Prix ticket include?

+

Keith Prowse Travel offers a range of official ticket options, including Grandstand reserved seating and entry-level to premium hospitality options. Your ticket inclusions will vary depending on the package selected and are outlined in the package details.

What is the difference between a Grandstand and a Hospitality ticket?

+

Grandstand tickets for the Australian Grand Prix include access to the circuit precinct and a reserved seat in the specified grandstand. These are bleacher-style seats offering a tiered, elevated view of the track.

Hospitality tickets at the Australian Grand Prix are a premium offering that includes access to the circuit precinct, as well as catering and dedicated facilities. The hospitality options available in Melbourne range from dedicated lounges with reserved grandstand seating to dedicated facilities with both a lounge and viewing platform. The specific inclusions of each hospitality option is included in the package inclusion description. For more information, please contact us and one of our travel consultants will walk you through the available options.

Do Australian Grand Prix packages include on-site support?

+

Our team is available to contact 24/7 through our event contact number, provided in your documentation. Our team will be on the ground in Melbourne for the duration of the event, and will be able to assist you throughout your trip as required.

Are flights included in the Australian Grand Prix package?

+

Flights are not included in our packages unless specifically mentioned in the product details. Flights can be added to any of our experiences and this can be arranged through our travel consultants.

Is the package price per person or per room?

+

In general, our Australian Grand Prix package prices are shown on a per person twin or double share room basis, unless otherwise specified. Please note a single occupancy surcharge applies for solo passengers.

Can I customise the package?

+

Many of our Australian Grand Prix package elements can be customised to suit your requirements. This includes accommodation options, ticket type, and additional experiences and inclusions, subject to availability. For more information please contact us and one of our travel consultants will walk you through the available options.

Please note all packages for 2026 must be sold with 4 nights accommodation.

Are there payment plans available?

+

Our payment terms vary depending on the event, however our standard payment terms is typically a 50% upfront deposit, with the remaining 50% balance due 3 months before the event. If the event is less than 3 months away, the fee must be paid in full.

What on-site entertainment is included beyond the racing?

+

Albert Park builds a full festival around the track. With Park Pass and Grandstand tickets, you can access the Fan Forum, Melbourne Walk (driver arrivals) and a main-stage music line-up included in your ticket on Friday through Sunday. Organisers also programme precincts around the lake with food, bars and displays; some years feature track-walk opportunities after racing subject to safety operations.

How early should I arrive for the Australian Grand Prix?

+

Arrive well before the first session you want to watch. Trams run from 5 a.m., and gates have airport-style screening. The event publishes a “what you can/can’t bring” list and gate maps ahead of time; typical settings allow small bags within size limits and ban hard coolers. We provide up-to-date entry guidance with your travel documents, including your best gate for the seats we’ve booked for you.

What’s the weather like in Melbourne in March?

+

Early autumn in Melbourne is pleasantly mild, but conditions can shift. Plan for warm afternoons and cooler mornings with the chance of a quick shower. Light layers, sunscreen, a cap and comfortable footwear are essential for moving between gates and grandstands.

How do I book Australian Grand Prix tickets?

+

Tell us your preferred ticket category and any hospitality interests. We’ll secure official Grand Prix access and hand-picked hotels for your experience. Before you travel you’ll receive our event guide with maps, transport notes and session reminders, and on the ground our team is available for real-time support so your Australian Grand Prix weekend runs exactly to plan.
