The Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2026 will be held at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, located on Phillip Island in Victoria, approximately 140 kilometres south-east of Melbourne. The circuit is widely regarded as one of the finest and most spectacular on the MotoGP calendar, with sweeping coastal views and fast, flowing corners that riders and fans alike consider among the best in the world. How do I get to Phillip Island for the MotoGP?

+

Phillip Island is located approximately 140 kilometres south-east of Melbourne, and getting there is straightforward with a bit of planning. Most visitors drive from Melbourne via the South Gippsland Highway and Phillip Island Road, with the journey typically taking around two hours outside of peak traffic. During race weekend, roads to the circuit can get congested (particularly on Sunday) so leaving early and factoring in extra travel time is strongly recommended.

For those who’d prefer not to drive, coach transfers from Melbourne are available during race weekend and are a popular option for groups. The coaches drop you close to the circuit and take the stress out of parking and traffic entirely.

For interstate and international visitors, Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine) is the main gateway into the city, from where you can hire a car or join a coach transfer to the island.
