The 2026 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix takes place from 23 to 25 October 2026 at Phillip Island Circuit.
The Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix is held at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, located on Phillip Island in Victoria, approximately 140 kilometres south-east of Melbourne. The circuit is widely regarded as one of the finest and most spectacular on the MotoGP calendar, with sweeping coastal views and fast, flowing corners that riders and fans alike consider among the best in the world.
Keith Prowse Travel offers a range of travel packages for the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix at Phillip Island, including grandstand tickets and premium hospitality options. Get in touch with our team via our contact page to find out what’s available for 2026.
Phillip Island is located approximately 140 kilometres south-east of Melbourne, and getting there is straightforward with a bit of planning. Most visitors drive from Melbourne via the South Gippsland Highway and Phillip Island Road, with the journey typically taking around two hours outside of peak traffic. During race weekend, roads to the circuit can get congested (particularly on Sunday) so leaving early and factoring in extra travel time is strongly recommended.
For those who’d prefer not to drive, coach transfers from Melbourne are available during race weekend and are a popular option for groups. The coaches drop you close to the circuit and take the stress out of parking and traffic entirely.
For interstate and international visitors, Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine) is the main gateway into the city, from where you can hire a car or join a coach transfer to the island.

The Phillip Island circuit is 4.448 kilometres long. The MotoGP race typically runs for 27 laps, covering just over 120 kilometres in total.
Phillip Island offers a number of viewing areas around the circuit, each with its own character and perspective on the racing. The best spot really comes down to what you want from your day. The Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix weekend features racing across all three MotoGP world championship classes. MotoGP is the premier class, featuring the world’s fastest production-derived prototype motorcycles and the sport’s biggest names. Moto2 and Moto3 also race across the weekend, making it a full programme of motorcycle racing from Friday through to Sunday.
Australia has produced some of the greatest motorcycle racers the sport has ever seen, and Phillip Island has been the stage for some memorable home victories. Mick Doohan, the five-time world champion, dominated the circuit throughout the 1990s and remains one of the most celebrated figures in the event’s history. Casey Stoner, the two-time MotoGP world champion, also won at Phillip Island during his remarkable career, thrilling home crowds with his distinctive riding style. Jack Miller, one of the more recent Australian riders to compete at the top level, carried the flag for a new generation of Australian MotoGP fans.
Yes. In addition to the main Sunday race, the MotoGP weekend now includes a shorter sprint race on Saturday. It’s a great addition to the weekend programme and gives you more on-track action across the three days, with the stakes and intensity of a proper race rather than a qualifying session.
Our partnerships ensure unparalleled quality and service, enriching every aspect of your experience.
