Additional Information

Where is Wimbledon held?

+

The Championships, Wimbledon are held annually at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London, England.

What are the main courts at Wimbledon?

+

There are 3 show courts that are exclusively ticketed and cannot be accessed with a grounds pass. The All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) has over 50 courts including 18 Championship grass courts that Wimbledon matches are played on.

What time does play start at Wimbledon?

+

For Wimbledon 2026, the Grounds will open at 10am daily. We recommend arriving at Wimbledon at least one hour before play starts due to large crowds at the entry. A full Order of Play will be available the night before each day’s play on the official Wimbledon app and Wimbledon.com.

Centre Court

Play is scheduled to start on Centre Court at 1:30pm for the first 11 days, and 2pm on Finals weekend.

No.1 Court

On No.1 Court, play will start at 1pm and 11am on Finals weekend.

All Other Courts

On all other courts, play is scheduled to start at 11am.

What surface is Wimbledon played on?

+

Wimbledon is the only Grand Slam played on a grass surface. The courts at the All England Lawn Tennis Club are cut to a playing height of 8mm and is composed of 100% rye grass. This iconic grass surface is part of what makes Wimbledon unique compared to the US Open (hard court) or French Open (clay).

Centre Court

Centre Court is the largest court at Wimbledon and has a capacity of almost 15,000 spectators. This is an exclusively ticketed arena and cannot be accessed with a Grounds Pass. It has a retractable roof allowing uninterrupted play in all weather conditions.

No.1 Court

The No.1 Court is the second main show court of Wimbledon and has a capacity of approximately 12,000 spectators. This is an exclusively ticketed arena and cannot be accessed with a Grounds Pass. It has a retractable roof allowing uninterrupted play in all weather conditions.

No.2 Court

No.2 Court has the capacity to seat 4,000 spectators, which is significantly smaller than Centre Court and No.1 Court. This is an exclusively ticketed arena and cannot be accessed with a Grounds Pass. This court does not have a retractable roof, and play may be suspended due to weather conditions.

Can I choose which matches or players I see?

+

Keith Prowse Travel offers tickets to a range of sessions across the tournament and, subject to availability, can tailor packages to specific sessions, rounds, and days.

At Wimbledon, the reigning men’s singles champion traditionally opens play on Centre Court on Day 1. However, the daily order of play is only released the evening prior, which means we cannot guarantee which players will appear in a particular session at the time of booking.

What is included with my ticket?

+

Our Keith Prowse Travel Wimbledon packages include a premium debenture ticket with a reserved seat for either No.1 Court or Centre Court for the entirety of the specified day. Centre Court debenture seats are located in 200 or 300-level seating; some on the same level as the Royal Box. No.1 Court seats are within 15 rows of the court.

Debenture tickets provide spectators with exclusive access to certain areas of the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club during the tournament including exclusive lounge areas, bars and restaurants. You also have access to watch all other matches on any court throughout the Grounds with unreserved seating.

Are there accessible ticket options available?

+

Yes! Please contact our team to discuss the available options.

What is the dress code for Wimbledon?

+

Many guests choose to dress up for a day at Wimbledon and the dress code for the admittance into the Wimbledon Debenture Holder’s Lounge is “smart casual“. There is no requirement for men to wear a jacket or tie in the debenture restaurants, however, trousers and a collared shirt are recommended.

What makes Wimbledon unique?

+

Wimbledon is widely regarded as the most prestigious Grand Slam. It is the oldest tennis tournament in the world (the first tournament was held in 1877). Taking place from late June to early July, it is the only Slam that is still played on grass, which produces fast, low-bouncing matches. Wimbledon is steeped in tradition, with a strict all-white dress code, royal presence and classic touches like strawberries & cream, and champagne that adds to its timeless charm and elegance.
